Job Descriptions
Members of the Board of Directors
President ฿
As defined by Lions Clubs International, the President is the chief executive of the club and ensures the overall smooth operation of the club. They appoint chairpersons, plan and conduct meetings, manage club elections, and facilitate collaboration.
Vice President ฿
The Vice President is the president's shadow, preparing to become president while supporting the club president in implementing their goals and being a catalyst for the club's activities.
Secretary ฿
Job The Secretary records the ongoings of the club and the board in the form of minutes, reports monthly to MyLCI or more frequently as needed, maintains the membership roster, and conducts the quorum call at each meeting that business is to be discussed.Â
Treasurer ฿
The Treasurer is the primary signer and responsible person for all club finances and assets. Alongside the secretary, the treasurer receives dues and any other monies coming into the club, and with the authorization of the board, signs and sends all checks from and on behalf of the club. The treasurer reports to the club during each business meeting the financial health of the club, and more frequently as needed to the board.
Communications Director ฿
The Communications Director (Marketing Communications Chairperson) keeps all club activities in the public eye while promoting the club and its service to the community. This is mainly done via the club's social media channels: facebook, twitter, and Instagram, as well as publication to local Nextdoor and relevant newspapers as appropriate.
Immediate Past President ฿
The Immediate Past President is an invaluable resource and guide to the president and leadership team. They will frequently serve as an ambassador representing our club to other Lions and Leos groups and the world. They help the president to remain mindful of the needs and perspectives of the club and its members.Â
Safety, Diversity, and Inclusivity Officer
Our Safety, Diversity, and Inclusivity Officer (Safety Officer) is responsible for making sure that all locations and spaces that our club uses are free of hazards, and that we can safely serve the community and our Lions. They also make sure that our club meetings are conducted in a safe and inclusive way so that no member or guest feels unwelcome or otherwise excluded. In our club, we feel this is such an important role that we have elevated it to be a part of our board of directors.
Advisors, Coordinators, Liaisons, & Committee Positions
